Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search Tools
When a visitor enters a name, location, or other detail in a search box operated by a third party, the entry goes directly to that provider so it can perform the search. Nobles County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's privacy terms apply to the information it receives.
Messages Sent to Us
If a visitor sends an email or uses an available contact form, we retain the message and contact details as needed to read, answer, and manage the request. We do not share that correspondence outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Ordinary server, analytics, and advertising systems may record basic technical details when a page loads. These records help measure traffic, maintain performance, and diagnose misuse or faults. They can include:
- The visitor's Internet Protocol address.
- Browser name and version.
- Device category and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on them.
- The referring website, when supplied.
- Date and time stamps tied to requests.
Cookies and Similar Storage
Cookies may be used to understand how people move through the site and to support analytics or advertising functions. A browser can reject or remove cookies. Blocking them may change how some features work.
Reasons We Use Data
Collected information is used only for operating, understanding, and protecting the service. In practical terms, it may help us:
- Keep pages available and responsive.
- Send a search request to the partner selected by the visitor.
- Measure which Nobles County resources readers use.
- Find errors, security concerns, and technical failures.
- Display advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests.
Government and Outside Links
Links may lead to the Nobles County Sheriff's Office, Minnesota corrections and court systems, federal locators, release-record resources, or independent search tools. After a visitor follows one of those links, the destination controls its own collection and use of data. Its privacy notice should be reviewed separately. Requests made to Minnesota government offices may be handled under the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, but that law does not turn this private site into a government records custodian.
Advertising partners may use their own technology to observe activity across more than one website and tailor ads. That processing occurs through their systems, not through records maintained directly by Nobles County Released Inmates.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited information may still be provided to parties that perform a defined function or when a binding legal demand requires disclosure:
- Search partners that process a query sent to their tool.
- Analytics providers that measure site use.
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads.
- Law enforcement or another government authority acting under a valid legal order.
Security Has Practical Limits
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used to protect information under our control. Even well-maintained internet services face risk, however. No website, transmission method, or storage system can be promised to be completely secure or immune from a breach.
This Site Is for Adults
Nobles County Released Inmates is intended for people who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly seek or collect personal information from minors. If a parent or guardian believes a person under 18 submitted information, contact us so the material can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and the limits of what we actually retain, a person may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of personal information held about that person.
- Correct personal information that is inaccurate.
- Delete personal information that no longer must be kept.
- Stop certain processing when an opt-out right applies.
These requests concern data controlled by this private site. A request for sheriff, court, or corrections data must go to the government office that keeps the record.
Changes to This Notice
This privacy notice may be revised as services or data practices change. The updated text and its new effective date will be posted on this page. Continued use after publication is subject to the revised notice.
