Where to Ask for Records

The correct contact depends on whether the person left the county jail, entered Minnesota state custody, moved to supervision, or needs a court record. The Prairie Justice Center houses the jail, district court, and Rock Nobles Community Corrections at the same Airport Road complex, but each office keeps different records.

Nobles County Jail and Sheriff

Ask the Sheriff's Office about current jail custody, release processing, or existing admission and release data. Sheriff Ryan Kruger is the responsible authority for sheriff data at 1530 Airport Road, Suite 100, Worthington, MN 56187. His records contact is 507-295-5400, fax 507-372-5977, and rkruger@co.nobles.mn.us. The research found no published public-counter hours for the jail, so call before visiting.

Nobles County Public Data

Use the county's 2026 Data Practices Policy and the request form beginning on page 5 for existing public data. Inspection is free. The Minnesota Government Data Practices Act permits requests for public data without requiring a reason, though contact details may be needed to clarify or deliver a request. A focused request can ask for public admission and release fields, a release time and legal basis, a booking number, a court file number, and a public booking photograph.

Rock Nobles Community Corrections

This office handles local probation, pretrial supervision, diversion, electronic monitoring, and related programs. Use the live county directory to identify the assigned agent because staff assignments may change. State supervised release is different and is handled through Minnesota DOC supervision channels.

Nobles County District Court

The Fifth Judicial District court can address case files, release orders, dispositions, and sentencing records. Public cases may also be checked through Minnesota Court Records Online.

Minnesota Department of Corrections

For a sentenced state prisoner or a person still under state supervision, start with the COMS Public Viewer. Direct detailed sentence, status, and release questions to the person's facility or Minnesota DOC Central Records at co-records.doc@state.mn.us. For final discharge or older material, use the DOC's current offender-record request page, which keeps mailing instructions current.

Minnesota VINE

Minnesota VINE supports a specific-person custody search and prospective status notifications for participating agencies. The state line published by Nobles County is 877-MN4-VINE, or 877-664-8463. National live support is 1-866-277-7477. VINE alerts are useful for future events, but they are not a permanent release-record archive.
